Join Us at FitRetreat!

philaLast August, we closed out the summer with our first FitRetreat, a full day of fitness and motivational sessions at the American Dreaming Magazine Headquarters in Northern Liberties.With less than one month of promotion, our inaugural event brought in 75 attendees, 7 fitness instructors, and 15+ corporate & community sponsors. Women left feeling inspired and motivated to spread healthy living at home, in the workplace and social settings.

A Philly Fitness Fanatic’s Guide to June 7th

June 7th is a perfect day for fitness enthusiasts in the City of Brotherly Love. To my knowledge, there are at least 4 fitness/wellness-related events happening in one day! As a self-proclaimed fitness fanatic, I can speak for all of us who are having a hard time choosing one event. (No worries!) I created a schedule to help you fit a few of the events into your day. Instead of missing most of them, try attending all of them. Have fun!!

Start your day bright and early with breakfast at home and then one of these two events:

Ridiculous Obstacle Course (R.O.C) Race

ROC race is a game show inspired 5K obstacle course. The event will be held at Citizens Bank Park. Registration is currently $69. There are 4 waves but for our purposes, you’ll want to start with the 8AM race to make it to the other events in time. Click here  for event details!


Black Girls Run! Preserve The Sexy Tour

A full day of mind, body and fitness events for (all) women runners. I am relatively new to running (a year now) so this sounds like the perfect event to learn more about running techniques, products, training, etc. There will be a few sessions with a Newton Running Certified Coach who will discuss form and injury prevention.  The event is from 8:30am-12:30pm and tickets are $25. A day-long fitness bootcamp for women. Don’t worry about lunch because it will be provided (Yum!). I attended Be Well Philly Boot-Camp last year and had a blast! It was a fun-filled day with fitness sessions hosted by local instructors, vendors and great people. This event is from 9-2. Since Be Well Philly Bootcamp ends at 2 you will have time to enjoy:


A full day of yoga at the Piazza at Schmidts in Northern Liberties. I also attended this event last year and LOVED it. The sessions are taught by local yoga instructors so be sure to look out for some of your favorites. The event is from 12-6pm and is completely FREE. Click here to register and learn more.
