Frequently Asked Questions

  1. I am NOT a runner. Can I still join this group? : Yes. ‘City Fit Girls Run for Fun’  is open to everyone. Our only requirement is that you finish. If you’d like to start with a walk/run, we’ll show you how to do that too! No runner will be left behind because of speed.
  2. Is there a fee to join? No. City Fit Girls Run for Fun is NOT an instructed/guided program like our amazing Bootcamp or Club Cardio classes. We’re a free community of women who love running, want to learn more about running, and/or love running with others. To learn more about Bootcamp, Personal Training and Club Cardio, click here.
  3. Is there parking? : Parking in Center City can be tough which is why we chose to meet up at Dilworth Park (City Hall). City Hall is accessible by most forms of public transportation (SEPTA buses, Regional Rail, subway lines, and trolley lines). Click here to find directions via public transportation. If you have to drive, there is limited paid on-street parking and parking garages available in the area.
  4. Is there a place to put my bags?: City Fit Girls will not provide a place for you to check your bags. Since we’ll only be covering 3-4 miles each week, you’ll only need a water bottle and other emergency items (keys and cell phone).

[Recap] Philadelphia Runner hosts an amazing inaugural Philly 10k!

Thanks to Philadelphia Runner and City Fit Girls, I had the great pleasure of being a part of the inaugural 2014 Philly 10K this weekend, the city’s first 6.2 mile running event with its course mapped throughout the heart of Philadelphia.  Everything about the expo, race, and festival shouted “PHILLY”, from Philadelphia Brewing Company unveiling their first Philadelphia Runner’s Ale, a session IPA, to Shake Shack doling out generous size cups of their special edition Liberty Shell custard, a delightful combination of vanilla custard, strawberry puree and lemon ricotta with Termini Bros. Cannoli shell pieces on top.

With the weekend beginning at the pre-race expo, which was held Thursday evening and Friday afternoon at the Italian Market, it could not have gone more smoothly.  It was extremely well-organized to pick up your runner’s bib on one side of the street, which may be one of the most unique bib pick-up locations stationed directly next to the produce stands on the sidewalk at the Italian Market.  We were then directed to the opposite side of the street where we picked up our Philly10K race t-shirt and could also find Philly10K apparel being sold under a big tent, along with Philadelphia Runner’s Ale, tapped for the first time, and some great food options for purchase.
